Djibouti Parliament Communications Director Closes Training on Media Relations and Institutional Communication

Said Abdullahi Bitow, Director of Communication and Public Relations at the Djibouti Parliament, closed a training session focused on media relations, official messaging, and institutional communication, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen communication capacity within the parliamentary institution.

The training brought together participants involved in public information, communication, and institutional outreach, and focused on improving the management of media relations, the preparation of official communication materials, and the organization of information related to parliamentary activities. It also addressed practical approaches to communication planning and the role of public institutions in ensuring the effective delivery of official information.

Sessions during the training covered a range of topics, including drafting press materials, coordinating media engagement, managing communication around official events, and strengthening public-facing messaging linked to parliamentary work. Participants also discussed the importance of clear communication systems in supporting transparency and improving public understanding of institutional processes.

At the closing session, Said Abdullahi Bitow stressed the importance of strengthening communication skills within public institutions and underlined the need for structured information systems that allow accurate and timely communication with citizens and media organizations. He noted that institutional communication plays an increasingly important role in supporting transparency, visibility, and trust in public administration.
